Bug Labs, MakerFaire andlittleBits will be hosting in NYC on September 23 called the Open Hardware Summit, first dedicated conference for open source hardware. It will be a venue to present, promote and discuss the undergoing open source hardware movement, and we are very excited to sponsor and participate! A honor to hear the depth thoughts and share our different view angle!
I (Eric) and Icing Chang will be attending the summit and Make Faire, staying in New York for about one week. It will be our pleasure to meet you and NYC!

Guitar effect shield for Maple

[Okie] designed this audio effect shield for Maple. You’ll remember that Maple is a prototyping system built around an ARM processor, so there’s plenty of power and speed under the hood. First and foremost, the shield provides input and output filters to keep noise out of the system. From there a set of potentiometers let you change the effect, with the manipulation like echo, distortion, and ring modulation happening in the firmware.

“Reflecting The Stars” with 300 RF Bee

Reflecting the Stars is an Interactive Light Installation that will raise awareness and teach prevention techniques for light pollution. Solar powered LED clusters implanted on hundreds of decaying pier posts will illuminate at sunset, twinkling in various patterns, mirroring a lost starry sky. When windmillfactory team approached us for help, we consider it a honor to contribute to the romantic project, and also a good chance to validate our RF Bee running in legion. Unstable Solar Charger at renovation

It’s shocking that we found Solar Charger might have +/-1V ripple while supplying 5V DC from Li-Po battery.The ripple varies according to the load, most project might run OK, but having high potentiality that ADC applications might have unstable read or other unexpected errors.

The story of DSO nano

DSO Nano was first announced on 10th, Sep, 2009, the first 30 units was selling at 65 USD as beta version. To our surprise, it soon caught many people’s eyes and the first batch was sold out very quickly (In 24 hours).
Thus begin the story of DSO nano.

Time Is Ticking Out! Seeed Studio now stepped to its second anniversary. Rewinding back from last celebration, we have been:
… started propaganda kit service for open source hardwarists,
… started electronic brick product line, which you see many brick spawned and keep spawning,
… held Rainbowduino Carnival which many inspiring creations are rallied,
… published DSO nano, surprised about the popularity and get very much proud,
… cooperated with Ian and Hackaday with bus pirate, turning such great must-have-but-not-easy-to-build tool into ready products,
… introducing Xbee compatible Wireless communication modules,
… introducing Seeeduino Stalker, RF bee, Rainbowduino and other “mutants”,
… moved to 3 times bigger office, decorate per freewill
… introduced more value adding products, concise catalog to focus on the most needed,
… invited more and more talented souls to our open source hardware force,
… recovered and recovering from product failure, quality issues, shipping errors, management crisis, by re-organizing, process optimization, and communication improvement.
Aside these grasped from blog and our logs, I believe you guys have some memory with us. Would you like to share some piece with Seeed Studio and leave it physically on our wall?
